What's New: Engine Tune-Up

Update 2026-07-01: Admin Popped The Hood On Both Drawing Tools And Actually Fixed Stuff.

1. BOTH TOOLS GOT AN ENGINE REFRESH

Under the hood. Where nobody claps, but everybody feels it.

The Classic brush and the H5 Lab both run on a refreshed engine now.
Strokes are smoother, drawing is less buggy, and the canvas is generally more willing to do what your finger asked.
No new buttons to learn. It just feels better. That's the whole pitch.

2. THE FLASK BLENDS LIKE IT MEANS IT

Smudge / blending tool, now with 100% less mystery crust.

BEFORE: Drag the flask and sometimes it'd leave crunchy black edges where you least wanted them. Blending looked less "watercolor," more "crime scene."

NOW: Cleaner strokes, smoother blends, and no more weird black edges.
The flask finally smudges like a smudge tool instead of a haunted one.

3. COLORS THAT ACTUALLY LISTEN

Two annoying color bugs, both squashed.

COLOR PICKER FIX: Tapping colors on phone and tablet actually works reliably now. No more poking a swatch three times and wondering if the screen is ignoring you.

PALETTE RESTORE FIX: Reopening a saved .deck no longer clobbers your palette. Your carefully-hoarded colors come back exactly how you left them.
( yes, that was a real bug. yes, it was as annoying as it sounds. sorry. )

4. IMPORTED STUFF IS CLEARLY FLAGGED

A label, not a lecture. (You've heard this one before.)

Used a traced reference, a background photo, or imported art? That's now clearly flagged on your work, with a gentle community reminder.
Nothing's banned. It just keeps the default feed hand-drawn, so both crowds stay happy. Tinker on.

5. FONT IMPORT OPENS A REAL FILE PICKER

Revolutionary concept: a button that opens the thing it says it opens.

Importing a font now opens a proper file picker — go find your font, tap it, done.
No more guessing where the app wanted you to put it.

+ GENERAL STABILITY (THE BORING USEFUL ONES)

General canvas & editor stability — fewer random hiccups mid-doodle.
Smoother tool behavior all around, on both the Classic brush and the H5 Lab.
A pile of small, unglamorous fixes that add up to "hey, this feels nicer now."

SAME TOOLS. FEWER GREMLINS. WIGGLE ON.

This one's all polish. Sometimes love is just fixing the black edges. (>﹏<)

To the doodlers: the brush should feel smoother now. Go make a mess (on purpose).

To the Lab crowd: the flask blends clean now. Tinker in peace.
